How do we produce so much snot when we have colds or something?

It comes from your mucus membranes & particles in the air. You produce more when you R sick because that's your body fighting the infection. Your sinuses tie into your lungs & like I said it's your body fitting the infection discharging phlegm or anything that could end up in your lungs making you sicker. It's the remarkable body taking care of it self.
