I've been studying quantum physics lately, and I find it very interesting. Especially Dr. Emoto, who did an experiment with water showing that it received the energies that were put into it and displayed those energies in frozen form. This experiment proves that our thoughts have tangible effects on reality. What are your thoughts on this discovery???

Quantum physics has a lot to with the mind and the way it can affect things. Such as the Observer, where it has been shown that an experiment has different results when someone is watching it. That suggests that our 'viewing' changes things. That's all Dr. Emoto was showing, and yes, the experiment has been done by others, and it's not all that hard. All he did was put energy into water, freeze it, and then look at it under a microscope, in very basic terms. I don't consider it coincidence when the word 'family' is focused into water and it makes the same frozen crystal every time. Yes, quantum physics is a lot of math and probabilities. But it is also about the mind. If you only study one side, you will never fully understand it.

That just blew my mind. I'm going to research this thoroughly...

Sigh.
If you were understanding the quantum physics you've been studying, you'd understand that what "Dr. Emoto" has done has nothing to do with science -- that he draws unfounded conclusions from incorrect assumptions, that he assumes facts not in evidence, and that nobody can repeat his "experiments" but him. That's not science, dear -- that's nonsense. He hasn't proven anything except that he knows how to perpetuate massive fraud, and get gullible people who also don't understand science to believe him because he uses big words.

Is that what happens when you're raised to believe in magical mythical things for which there is no evidence -- you don't critically assess things like this guy? Scary, downright scary.

Peace.

Dr. Emoto is full of ****. This isn't quantum physics, it's metaphysics bullshit. I'm sorry to be so harsh, but really - he has nothing to back it up, no useful experiments, he's completely wrong and basically making people think quantum physics is about your thoughts and feelings when it's about hard math and physics.

If you really want to learn about quantum physics, I recommend the books by Griffiths, Liboff, Cohen & Tanuj, and Sakurai. But make sure you've taken at least three semesters of calculus first, or you're going to be confused.

Sorry but I have to agree with eri here...I checked your link and Dr Emoto's site also, it seems more like some new age type pseudo science!

I like the way those people discover things.
Water is a weird thing. Has weird properties.
I like water.
Words are powerful too. According to the Bible, words have the power of life and death in them.
Something to think about.
