i'm considered a good cook. The best meal I know how to make is paella.
I found a recipe that looked good, then made it. The next time I modified it to be more to my taste. That, for me, was the best way to learn to cook: find a recipe from a reliable source (cookbooks, friends), make it, then modify it to my own taste through trial and error, and keep track of what worked, what didn't, and why.
Over time I have developed the ability to just read a recipe for the basic idea and cook it to my own preferences the very first time. I can now also just take ingredients on hand, and put them together without a recipe, because I know cooking techniques and ingredients and how to use them.
If you just follow others' recipes, you will never really know how to cook, how to improvise, and most important, how to cook to your own personal preferences.

I don't think I am that much of a good cook and all but I know what I make best. The best meal I can make is an omelet! YUMMY! I just love those things. Especially with bacon. It is one of the best things that my daddy has ever taught me. If he never taught me how to make that delicious breakfast meal, then I could of starved to death!

Yes! My family loves for me to cook! I can't think of the BEST meal, there is a variety. Like to cook spicy foods, mostly. And I can make a meal out of any leftovers in my kitchen. My mom was the leftover queen (9 kids, dad was not around) and I learned a lot from her. But also learned by watching both grandmas and just experimenting a lot!

After being raised on small farm, cooking for work hands and family, working as a cook for farmers, plus working in restauramts...I've been told more times than not that I am a very good cook.
I'm thinking that one of my best meals is "Taco Tater Bake"...It's something I came up with one day when I was bored with cooking the usual stuff. It was soooooooo simple and tasted fantastic. If anyone wants the recipe just e-mail me.

Hard to call myself a good cook, I think that is something others should judge.
As far as best meal, my easiest and best loved by friends and family is beef roast with potatoes and carrots. Gravy on the side. Probably a green salad and black magic chocolate cake for dessert.
My mom and grandma both fixed these. Mom is 81 and Grandma passed away in 1997 at the age of 103. Lots of years to perfect these recipe.
If you want to email me for how to do any of the above just let me know.

I have quite a few and all taught by friends and family. I've taken the best I've tasted and put them into my repertoire or added a bit here, a bit there from other recipes. My best are tacos (which are divine) and meatloaf ( the best ever). My tacos are made with ingredients I've picked Pl over many years ( I was raised in El Paso, so I picked up the best) and the meatloaf that I got from a friend and changed to the most incredible.

Oh yes, I can cook. My mama taught me - but I learned my fave dish all by myself. It's country style boneless pork ribs. A serving of that and half a baked potato with real butter, steamed broccoli, and a dinner roll is GOOD! About half an hour later, complete the meal with dessert: carrot cake or vanilla ice cream with apricot sauce.

I use to cook in restaurants but I think the meal I can make with a great amount of flavor packed in it is seafood Alfredo. I learned how to make in at a place I worked at in Cleveland called Shooters on the water.

I don't want to toot my own horn, but I think I am a pretty good cook.
I am better with deserts, I make a pretty good carrot cake.
My best meal so far I think would be my chicken fettucini that I made in my cooking class at school
It was very easy to make and was very tasty and healthy.
