My niece (she's also my god daughter) is turning 2 this month, and I want to find something unique to get her. I've already bought her a dress, but she has all kinds of clothes and plenty of toys already. Any other ideas?

Books are a great idea, but I forgot to mention, she has tons of those too! Her mommy is a school teacher, so she's already on top of the reading thing!

I know you said she has lots of books, but how about a personalized book? Kids love to hear their name in the storyline. Go to this website http://www.tlc-expressions.com They have lots of titles like Ballerina Princess, Little Mermaid, Sesame Street, Scooby-Doo, Looney Tunes, Sports titles and so many more. Check it out - they're very reasonably priced, and make a wonderful & unique gift... Good Luck!

Children love unique, homemade presents. Something you can't buy in the store. I like making homemade crayons for toddlers.

Chop up some crayons [take the labels off] and put them in a mini-cupcake tray. (Or icecube tray...something like that) And then, melt the crayons into liquid wax. In the oven, about ten minutes. Stick them in the freezer for about an hour. Pop them out of the tray and you'll have beautiful, multicoloured crayons.

Hope you like my idea.

www.buildabear.com

these are more than just regular stuffed animals
they have inside tags that if the animal is returned to any store they are then mailed free of charge to the owners home
if you have to wash them and the inside stuffing gets messed up they will restuff free
you can dress them however you want with clothes found for them at the store or online

take her with you if you go to the store so she can make the animal herself
and pick the clothes (yes she's old enough my daughter made her first one at 18months)

they are stuffed how you want them and they have a heart that the kid puts in and a birth certificate

I gave my niece a child's plastic purse with some small items in it when she turned two. My sister-in-law said she carried it EVERYWHERE for months and thought it was a great gift. This one was pink with some ponies on it. I also bought a sparkly hair brush and a little wallet and put them inside.

A standard gift we're getting for two year olds, both boys and girls, is the Little People magnetic doodling pad. Think etch-a-sketch but with a magnetic pen and shape stamps instead of clumsy dials.

The best part: it doesn't need batteries and it doesn't make annoying sounds!! (Yay!)

get her good interesting chapter books... like the princess stories... they are something that she can look foward too everynight... ya know... and then maybe if she takes good care of them shell have them when shes older and she can pass them down... but also get her a bond too seeing as of how books arent that expensive

What about earrings? Don't know if her ears are pierced, but that's always a nice touch. A bracelet, necklace, or jewelry box is also nice.
