To me, the most important quality in a SO (significant other) is that they do not cheat. Well, let's say your SO is a reasonably attractive person, who has never cheated, and will probably never cheat. But, that person does not share life goals with you (like, you want to marry, and the other person doesn't believe in marriage). Should you stay together? In my experience, people who are truly faithful are very rare indeed. What do you think?

Your SO may decide marriage isn't such a bad idea in the future,
Give the relationship time. See what happens.

I think the most important quality in a relationship (aside from fidelity) is love. If you love that person, and they love you then your ideals do not matter so much, as they can change, or be compromised, whereas love and fidelity are precious gifts. I would never break up with someone I loved and trusted just because they did not want to marry!
