News is so useless. This is just like that anna nicole smith story or whatever. I read articles and articles of crap, listening to the story all over the place, and the whole time im thinking, why isnt anyone saying HOW SHE DIED! Most important part and it was pissing me off beyond belief.

This is the same thing. No one is saying what it was about the food that was causing these cats and dogs to have problems. Why the hell not? Is it some conspiracy or something? Idiots.

Anyways hopefully you guys know.

The latest news reports state that the Food & Drug Administration is focusing on the possibility of tainted wheat gluten, but they're still investigating.

Here's an article from today's USA Today:

***UPDATE (March 23): News broke this afternoon that they identified rat poison as a possible cause. The type of poison found is not permitted in the U.S., but when Menu Foods switched suppliers for its wheat gluten, the stuff started coming from China.

Yes... it is frustrating. All menufoods has to say about is is that they suspect "wheat gluten from a new supplier." Supposedly there is an on-going battery fo tests conducted by menufoods and the fda itslef... with little results. They won't even tell us WHO supplied the suspect wheat gluten! I read some articles in Pet Connection who is keeping track of what is going on with the pet food recall. A vet contributor's best guess is mold or metal contamination in the wheat gluten.
