I know alot of people are going to disagree with this but I dont believe there's any such thing as a soulmate. The closest you get is someone who you feel entirely comfortable with, can talk to for hours, share the same goals and sense of humour and are completely committed to each other, and someone who you meet at a time in your life when you both want the same thing out of a relationship.

but in the first few years of a relationship most people feel this sort of all consuming love. its what happens afterwards that matters. Both people need to be willing to work at the relationship for the rest of their lives, through thick and thin, and that's no easy task for even the most committed and in-love couple.

"Soul Mates" do exist, unfortunately not in the way people think. I met mine. We were born on the same day, liked the same food, music, movies, sports, everything about us was the same. It was the most BORING relationship i have ever been in. There was no excitement because we always did the SAME things. I fell in love with someone that was a vegetarian, I'm not one, she couldn't cook, I could, she drove like a nut, I drive like an old man. We were willing to try new things that the other person enjoyed. We complimented each other in that way.
"Soul Mates" is not the correct term for someone who completes you. It should be "Divine Piece" as in a piece of a puzzle that fits together. Nah! That's pretty lame too.

Well.........Let's see: Won't You both have to know (mutually, reciprocal ) and share the possibility that You are "soul mates"?
Just one little glitch (maybe more) in this all too human condition..........It is said that good things, like a fine wine, take time.......So how will You know that You two starry eyed lovers are truly matched until it has stood "the test of time"?
Mark Twain said (wisely) "Love seems to be the swiftest, but is the slowest of all growths. No man or women really knows what perfect love is until they have been married a quarter of a century."...And then...Plato, also wisely said,"Love is a grave mental illness" ( or can be initially) sometimes called infatuation.
Sooooo...You won't know for a very, very, long time.
But someone said too," If the shoe fits , wear it"...a shoe, like anything important, has to be well taken care of (by both feet).
Good luck......Work hard.....Shakespeare said, "All time, not spent in love, is waisted" .But never, ever ever, ever, forget.........Love hurts !!!!!!!

People will consistently deny or rave about soulmates.
Does it really matter?
If you love someone and want to be with them forever, understand them and feel secure, this could be called 'soulmates'.
But it could also be called 'a stable long-term relationship'.
Do you really need to classify things?
Go with your heart. If you love someone, be with them and enjoy it instead of wasting time worrying whether or not they are your soulmate.

You will know. You could look ahead a few months and see him there and look ahead to when you get older (like your grandmothers age) and he'll still be there. You will feel like the world revolves around you and him and only you two!

You will just know everything will fall into place and you will just know that this is the guy that you want to spend the rest of your life with. Good luck hope that you find him.

No such thing. You will always be able to find a better partner than the one you have. Mind you, so can they :-)

What you can decide, however, is whether the person you're with makes you feel strong, and wants to look after you, and you want to look after them. These are the foundations of a good relationship, and the results are better than any fairytale.

A relationship is two-way, and not just about you.
