Snakebites are when you have both sides of the same lip pierced. Usually the lower lip because there is more area to work with there. The piercer places them even but so that they work with your face. Normally they are put just off the thickest part of your lip so that it doesn't look out of place or odd in size comparison. In the source is link to a picture but some of my friends have them and I have piercings of my own so I try to know what other piercings are called. The style of jewelry doesn't matter, most of it can be used in other piercings than what they are named for (I have a modified belly ring for my cartilage and a labret stud also that I use in my ears). I've seen studs and rings used, I think rings look better in snake bites then studs because they stand out more but a single side piercing looks awesome with a stud. Just my opinion on that.

Snakebite piercings are 2 piercings on the bottom lip, to the right and the left of the center. They resemble the fangs of a snake, and are typically over the canine teeth on your bottom jaw. They can either be done with studs or capitve ball rings (CBRs), usually in a 16g size.

A snake bite piercing is where you have two lip rings.
