First take care if you can dig for sewer a small distance from water supply line. If you have less space water supply should come on top and sewer underneath.

For your knowledge, Chittor (Rajasthan) has one of the most well developed sewre and water supply lines developed around 600 years back. Here they have made the sewers first and water supply has come on the top. They have even connected all the fresh water bodies so that water does not go wasted.

Keep them in separate trenches, and separate piping. Be sure that you have clearly identified all underground utilities in the path of the proposed sewer line.

If you do use the same trench, the sewer line will typically be deeper than the water line.
