My boyfriend and I have a great time in bed. The kind where you chip the plaster on the wall behind the headboard sometimes. The kind that makes us rush to see each other. I know I vocalise my appreciation a lot, but he doesn't! He can't keep his hands off me (nor I him), and when I ask him if he's satisfied, he looks at me like I'm crazy and says, "Of course!" He's described himself in front of our friends as p-whipped. I just state all that to say that I don't think he's lying when he says he's satisfied. But when he's having the "O", he doesn't make any noise, except maybe breathing hard. I don't want to ask him why, because I don't want to make him think I'm criticizing him, and I guess I've noticed that in the past, most other guys I've known don't really make much noise either. Why is that? Dudes, let us hear it, dangit! lol

Good answers so far. One other point I wanted to make is that *I* make noise because I can't *help* it, not necessarily because he wants me to (though he does like it), so I don't get how *he* can help it. I *know* it must feel good!

And Niddy G, I just had to say that your answer made me giggle. It was indeed "straight up" and so guy-like! lol

(1) There is certainly some personal preference there. I am aurally stimulated, so I love it when girls scream, and I try to encourage that through my vocalizations.
(2) This is another deepseeded example, I believe of how guys are not supposed to show emotion -- even ecstasy. Guys are supposed to be introvertive about the feeling -- girls are supposed to be loud. This may be inherent; this may be just a side effect of guys being introvertive emotionally in society; or it may be a specifically learned behavior.

Let's all be more vocal!

Seems tome its purely a guy thing - I mean think about the act. We build to a peak fairly slowly, and so our vocalising at each level of pleasure is more noticeable, especially towards climax when we can get quite loud as our excitement peaks. Guys however, grunt because usually they like to make it seem like they're doing all the work, and most come fairly quickly and usually only make that expiring sound on climax. All makes sense to me! Any clearer for you?

I'm female & lemme tell ya I've had the same problem w/ 2 out of the 3 boyfriends I've had. I think it's just a weird guy thing to be honest. Luckily w/ one of those two guys I could feel when he was about to go.

I don't think making noise is a guy or a gal thing. Its more about your personality, repression, extrovertedness, etc. Some people don't want to take the chance that the neighbors may hear.

To be straight up ma, that is what we do. We don't scream, we grunt and breath hard.
