a little comparison for ya
you shouldn't swim with any new piercing for about 2 weeks. belly button rings are the most commonly infected because they're in a place where that isn't easy to keep from bumping around. just keep it clean and you should be fine. i've also been told not to take a piece of jewelry out when the hole is infected because the infection can get sealed in and will require medical attention

I've had both pierced and the nose was a 2, the belly button was a 10. I would never go through getting my belly button pierced again (but I would gladly go through nose, tongue, and hood again).
Your belly button can take up to 6 months to FULLY heal, but you can go swimming, changing out the ring, and all that after 6 weeks. Basically, you follow the same type of rules you would for your ears.
I would definitely recommend going to the nose ring. It only pinches a little and by the end of the day, you hardly even notice that you've had it done.

it's really not that bad. on a 1-10... a nose ring is probably a 3. ear lobes hurt more. belly button... probably about the same, maybe a little worse. but really, it all depends on your own personal pain tolerance.
with any new piercing, you will want to stay out of the pool until it's healed.

The piercing doesnt hurt much at all...I'd say a 3. Make sure you go to a place that has a good reputation. What hurts is how tender your nose becomes afterward. Mine took a long time to heal, again I am sure this is on a case by case basis. Keep it clean, dont mess with it too much. And yes.....like the guy said above....you will feel like you have something in your nose...pretty funny. Mine even whistles at times :P

My friend got a nose ring, its a really tiny piercing so it doesnt hurt that much, according to her, but diffrent people have diffrent resistence levels so it may not have hurt that abd to my friend but maybe it will hurt to you. I would say 5 or 6, and yes its true belly button rings will get infected if you dont take proper care of them oce you first get them, & you cant go swimming until its healed, it will get infected, my cousins just got one. they dont really hurt that bad either.

i think that it just depends on how much you can tolarate pain, i got my ears pierced 3 times each and it was about a 1.5 painwise. then i got my belly pierced and it was a 1.
so I can tolarate the pain, it may be a little different for you may hurt a little more or less.

These days I compare everything to the pain of childbirth.
Piercings don't hurt at all.

Expect that you will feel like you have a booger there for at least a few weeks, and you will want to pick your nose all the time.
But hey, I'm attracted to women who have a finger stuck up their nose...
But I am an old guy---please don't take this seriously and think that I'm hitting on a 14 yr old---I am spoken for by a woman my age, don't want trouble, ok? Really.
I just happen to have a fetish for booger-picking women.

If you are scared of it hurting than you shouldn't get it pierced. No piercing should be painful.
