I'm the dad and baby stays with me all the time but now mom wants to take her to sleep over some times. They only have one room. Is it a good idea?

Anything they do, the baby will pick up on it. If they do something in bed infront of the child, the child might act it out. The child doesnt know between wrong or right when it comes to people charing a bed, or even getting intimate. So, i dont think i would allow it because if they even just kiss infront of the child, they are teaching the child to do the same thing. And, when you get the baby back the baby will be in a pattern of sharing a room maybe even a bed with someone so she is going to start doing that to you. She will want to sleep in the same room maybe even same bed as you and that is a hard pattern to break. I wouldnt accept that.

I would take into consideration how long the mother has been with current boyfriend. If he's been in the picture awhile, you should be okay. If he's a new recruit in the boyfriend department, you may ask for the boyfriend to not spend the entire evening with your ex. I would also set boundaries for your ex as far as what you expect. Obviously, no hanky panky with the daughter there. Maybe you could require that they purchase a floor cot or an inflatable bed for your daughter to sleep on. Also, ask her if you can do a quick walk through and have the ex explain what the night's plan is while your daughter is in her care. Make sure the house is safety proof and that there are enough supplies to last the trip.

Good luck!

No it is not a good idea. Baby is old enough to have their own bed in a different room. Baby will get use to the idea and will probably come to expect it at your house also.

I say no because EVERYTHING they do, will be repeated by the 2 yearold . My family found that out the hard way when I was screaming thinking my dad was hurting my mom because he was on top of her then I went telling all the neighborhood kids and embarassed them both. Maybe if you explain to them that you DON'T want anything happening (like sex) because you don't want the kid to pick up.

Good luck

mom should be intellegent and moral enough to not do anything sexual in front of the baby, but if you suspect she does, then do something about it. for her to have legal visits the child would have to have her own room.

Are you worried about anything in particular? Most folks would agree that sleeping in the same room is fine.

It sounds like you might be worried about something else.....
