Muhammed are not to be drawn? And if so, where can I find that law written and why. If it's not in the Qura'n, who made that a to be part of law of Islam and why?

Also, Islam promotes itself to be a religion of love, then how can it justify itself to killing people that have drawn Muhammed, whether as a cartoon or as a real man?

Thank you for your respectful answers.

It is stated in the Hadith (sayings and the practices of the Prophet Muhammad saw. peace be upon him.) that Prophet Muhammed said:
"Don't you know that angels do not enter a house wherein there are pictures; and whoever makes a picture will be punished on the Day of Resurrection and will be asked to give life to (what he has created)?"
(Hadith -Bukhari 4:47, Narrated 'Aisha)

Drawing shoudl be limited to educational purposes only. Humans and Animals are not to be drawn; doesnt matter who.

The issue of images can be found in the Hadith, which describes the sunnah of Muhammad (SAW). The Qur'an states that Muhammad (SAW) is the best guide for mankind. This is why Muslim follow the Prophet's sunnah and read and practice hadith.

Volume 7, Book 72, Number 837:
Narrated Abu Zur'a:

l entered a house in Medina with Abu Huraira, and he saw a man making pictures at the top of the house. Abu Huraira said, "I heard Allah's Apostle saying that Allah said, 'Who would be more unjust than the one who tries to create the like of My creatures? Let them create a grain: let them create a gnat.' "Abu Huraira then asked for a water container and washed his arms up to his armpits. I said, "0 Abu i Huraira! Is this something you have heard I from Allah's Apostle?" He said, "The limit for ablution is up to the place where the ornaments will reach on the Day of Resurrection.'

Volume 5, Book 59, Number 338:
Narrated Ibn Abbas:

Abu Talha, a companion of Allah's Apostle and one of those who fought at Badr together with Allah's Apostle told me that Allah's Apostle said. "Angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or a picture" He meant the images of creatures that have souls.

Islam doesn't justify killing someone for drawing a picture. The situation should have been handled better. The problem started when someone was looking for an illustrator for his book on Muhammad's (SAW) life. Okay. No problem there. When the various artist started making nasty, direspectful pictures of Muhammad (SAW), THAT got us angry. One doesn't have to feel about this deen the way I, or other Muslims do, but don't be disrespectful. I see a Bible on the floor or in the bathroom, I move it to better place because it's respectful and any holy scripture should be respected. It wasn't the object being illustrated, it was the way it was done.

No, that isn't in the Qur'an. surah 34:13 clearly shows that images are permissible.
Forbidding images comes from the bible, Deut 4:14 - 18 and was later incorporated into hadith, which many who call themselves muslim adhere to even more than the Qur'an. Hadith are called "allegorical" in the Qur'an, surah 3:7
So the ones who have twisted Islam to suit their own hatred and evil agendas, or just though blind misunderstanding, and following what they're taught, are the ones who "justify" the evil acts you describe. It is not Qur'anic at all.

the answer just below mine gives perfect example of hadith. what most who adhere to hadith either don't know, or understand is that there is even a hadith in which Muhammad is quoted as saying "don't write down anything I say other than the Qur'an". How's that for contradiction.
I am muslim, btw, and while I feel the negative depictions of prophet Muhammad were inflammatory, I do not in any way support the horrendous actions / reactions of "muslims" to those Danish cartoons.

That is not in the Qur'an. Humans and animals of any sort are not to be drawn in case that human or animal might be worshipped. I think it's in a Hadith. Also Islam does not justify killing people who draw images of Muhammad(PBUH*) or any of the other prophets(Peace be upon them all*) because murder is strictly forbidden except in times of war and also is a sin and is against Islamic teachings and ALLAH. And if a cartoon is drawn of Muhammad(PBUH*) or any of the other prophets(PBUT*) it is considered an insult to the prophets(PBUT*).

Er... nicely performed pointing out the glaring? the folk that have undesirable perspectives of Moslems already won't replace their evaluations. those that already be attentive to do no longer might desire to learn. So the 2nd area makes no sense. As for the rather question, no theory right here.

Hi, first of all, he is not to be drawn in case if anyone worships him, which is not to be done. For your second question, the answer is the same. You know, some muslims say that we have to do war an fight... and some tell that we have to convert with peace, kindship. If you other question, email me at cripsblood@hotmail.com.

Thank you

Islam promotes love and peace, but not when islam is attcked.

The west needs to wake up and realize that religion is not longer fair game.

You could have killed us, rather than making fun of the prophet of god, because death would be less painful than doing such a thing.

Unfortunately most religions claim to be based on love, but somehow people always find reasons to kill non-believers. This happens/happened in Islam, Christianity, &most others.
