I have been feeding that to my two rottweilers and they both have been sick since January with diarriah and vomiting, refuse to eat, I nurse them with baby food, they get better, I return to their normal feed (Iams Lamb and Rice, can) and they start vomiting again. Am I the only one with that experience?

Yes less than a month ago my chocalate lab became sick and died suddenly. He was perfectly healthy before this. He was fed iams food from wal-mart. The lamb and rice variety. My vet did blood work on him only to tell me that his kidneys were failing and he didnt have much time. We tried an iv but he was too sick by the time he showed symtoms. Change your dog food immediately. Your not the only one! k

My dog started having trouble with iams lamb and rice long before the recall came out. The brand I bought is not even in the list but I stopped feeding her. Now I feed her my food, I love her too much to feed her poison on a daily basis.
Stop believing the BS that our food is bad for dogs.

Firstly - Ignore Booyahwhatever. PETA loves to whip up things that are untrue and freeze the mind with it. Of course, they never do get around to telling you all the horrendous things they've done. Saints in a tainted world is what they think they are.

Secondly - Change their food. This site can help you out: www.dogfoodproject.com It seems pretty clear that's where the problem is coming from

Thirdly - Call up the vet. Talk the situation over with him/her. Make an appointment if they feel it's necessary to see the dog.

This isn't part of the recall, but IAMS is a very low quality food. Many dogs with sensitive tummys (and plenty without) have a problem with all the fillers and junk they put in their foods.

Switch to something like Natural Balance Duck & Potato. It's great for dogs with allergies, is filler free, and contains 100% human grade ingredients. The sweet potato and fish may also be a good option for your kids. I can't recommend this brand enough. Many local pet food stores carry it as does my local PetCo (not petsmart). Be sure to match the name exactly as there are many "natural" and "nature's" foods out there with similar names, but the quality isn't even close. : )

My dogs have never done well on Iams. If I were you I would stop feeding them that and buy them something better. You could go to Petsmart and get them some Nutro's Natural Choice for just a little bit more and they would probably stop vomiting. Why keep on giving them something that continues to make them sick.

Are you serious? Your dogs have been sick since January and you havent seen a vet? Perhaps thats the problem, not the food.

The recall is for WET foods..... If your food is wet out of a can better check with the 800 number as the sites have little info. Switch to Dry food and wet it with water.

STOP FEEDING YOUR DOGS IAMS THEY TESTS ON BEAGLES AND HACK TONS OF MUSCLES AND LEAVE THE POOR DOGS TO DIE ON THE DIRTY FLOOR. The dogs that are tested for the food are left in crammed dirrty cages are are nglected. I suggest you try other food if your dogs are sick.

Commercial dog foods are poising are pets! you would be so disgusted if you knew about the rendering plants, where they get the "meat" for dog foods....these places are making millions, and pets are having a shorter life span. They die early of cancers..most dogs w/ skin problems is caused by the commercial foods..theirs so many sites i could list..but it's easier for you to type and search in the web"Whats really in your pets food" Please search and read.....ty
