I'm assuming he is not neutered, which makes this harder, but still...
It is a house training issue ultimately, if he were truly house trained, he wouldn't mark in the house. Even intact males can be house trained to not mark in the house.

Go with him Outside, when he marks, reward him. watch him all the time in the house, if he starts to lift his leg, interrupt him and take him outside. When he marks outside, reward him.
The better and more exciting to him you make the reward, the quicker he will catch on.

But you must watch him constantly when he is loose in the house.

P.S. Just neuter him, this will do most of the work.

Spray all areas with white wine vinegar / water 50 - 50 to stop him marking it as his territory.

have got to say I have six Mastiffs in my house, and as yet have never had this problem with an intact ,male, even when bitches come into season, try taking him out a bit more,or letting him out more inot garden, apparantly cream soda is good for getting rid of the smell, not tried it myself, keep him restricted to one area of your home, and each time he looks like he's gonna pee get him outside,I know it means a bit extra work for you keeping an eye on him more, but its a means to an end .
good luck, sure would not want one of my big buggers doing this

If he's not neutered than he will mark everywhere in your house. It has nothing to do with house training it's a male dog trait.

You have to keep him in the room with you and catch him doing it. ... just like house breaking. It's for a different reason, but its the same method. He has to know immediately its unacceptable.

And I have a neo mastiff...fun dogs! I'd hate to have THAT much pee in my house though!!
