It depends on the addiction, but most addictions have programs that will offer you a community that is also breaking a similar addiction to get support from. You should go here to get support and learn techniques to break your addiction.

the last answer was on the money.
but ,if your referring to a mental addiction , replace it with some less harmful.
if its drugs , take it from someone who's been to the bottom.
do not under any circumstances seek treatment unless you absolutely have to. this will follow you for ever. do not let anyone tell you diff.
ween yourself off slowly ,then quit.
once a addict always an addict. you will learn to deal with it or
not.

good luck to you.

I am sure there is a lot of psycho babble and touch feely stuff out there, like telling you its not your fault etc. My opinion though is that we all have our crosses to bear, the tendency is to give in and to do the easy stuff, but we are all equipped with the strength to rise to the occasion and to take control rather than be controlled. So make a decision and stick to it.

it's kinda hard to give suggestions when you don't know the addiction cuz there are millions of things u can do...basically ur just gonna have to get ur mind off of whatever it is, and replace ur habit with somethin else...like cookin, excercise, or outdoor activities
