Bus drivers seem to be the grumpiest, most unhelpful and sour individuals around these days. Maybe it's the job, but that's no excuse in my opinion.
Today however I got into an argument with one of them-over the name of the bus stop of all things!
Anyway, as I got off he made some rude remark, so as the door s closed I turned round and flashed a 'v' sign at him.
I was walking away, but the bus stopped and the driver got out-shouting he was going to 'knock my block off' etc so I marched up to him and eyeballed him. lots of angry shouting and finger pointing in both directions ensued eventually leading to him backing off and getting back into his bus.
I don't think a bus driver should behave like this and I'm enclined to report him-on the other hand, honour was satisfied as far as I'm concerned, and I don't want to put a guy out of his livelihood.
what do people think?

tbh what makes me most angry is not his reaction to my 'v' sign-since I think that's understandable-but his initial rudeness which as I say seems to be standard for drivers these days.
However bus companys just ignore you if you complain about these things.

I would report the next time he may do something horrid to an older person. That git needs a swift kick up the bum.
I am laughing because admittedly you didn't have to give him the V but, I think it prolly is something I might have done.
I am tired of being treated as second class by some people who are not by any means acting first class! {I am not referring to their position in life either--anyone can be pleasant no matter what their job}

I would report him. I have to get the bus to work every day, and it's actually rare that you get a polite driver. Some of them barely even acknowledge the fact that you're there when you step on the bus!!
As far as i'm concerned a job as a bus driver should not just require them to be able to drive. What about people skills that apply in everyone elses jobs? I sure as hell would get the sack if I was constantly rude to all my clients.

Bus drivers, especially in urban areas, are under constant stress from traffic and the sometimes offensive and rude behaviour and attitude of the public, but an experienced driver should be able to take all this in his/her stride, and still offer a public service as a 'professional'.
Go ahead, report him, and don't worry about taking away his livelihood 'cos there is such a shortage of drivers, that it's unlikely that he will lose his job anyway.

Bus drivers all seem to be really unhelpful these days. They act like you are asking them for a kidney if you ask whether their bus goes past a certain stop. Contact the bus company about the bus drivers rudeness but he might be able to come back with that you were abusive to him i.e. flicking him the v's.
They all need to be sent on customer service courses

I would drive a city bus so if someone was being a butthole I could stop and put them off the bus. Unfortunately I would be fired if I did that to the school kids. I would clean the windows about twice a day and I would talk to people and tell them all about my foster child that I got when his mother went to shack up with some guy in Texas. Wanna see his picture? He's looking good in his little Wranglers!

Frankly, both of you were being a little childish. What worries me, though, is a driver in a temper like that driving a bus full of passengers. Hopefully he cooled down a bit before driving off. Perhaps it was just a bad day, all of us have one of those.
Maybe you ought to talk amongst your mates who use the same bus. If he has a reputation for flying off the handle it might be best in the long run if you did report him.

I would just like to agree with you...this gets me soooo angry....noone should have to put up with that behaviour at all...REPORT HIM...even for the smallest thing like neglecting customers at bus stops...the amount of times I have seen drivers pull away just a fraction from the bus stop, to stop at the lights and a poor old lady, having ran desperately to catch the bus finds that the driver is reluctant to open the doors but sits staring ahead.....(uurrrghhhh!!) thats when I speak out just to shame them.....these 'morons' that have the nerve to call themselves 'Bus Drivers' need to reconsider their job title.....bring back the characters of "On the Buses"..as silly and funny as they were.... at least you would never have had to put up with this 'psychological and verbal warfare'......don't worry should there next time be a situation with one of these morons... I will definately put up another V sign on your behalf...(smile).

Get over the fact that he was on duty and accept that you were both to blame. Why should you be able to give him a V sign and expect him not to defend himself just because he is at work? He was probably having a bad day and you pushed him over the edge. He's only human. I don't like this sort of behaviour at all, but I think no less of him just because he was at work than I do of you.
If you pick a fight with a man in the street you'd expect him to fight back. Do you just prefer to prey on people you don't think are allowed to fight their corner back so you can win and feel like the big man?
The whole scenario sounds pathetic. Just leave it.

If he cant handle bad days he should not be in a job involving the public. He wont loose his job unless he has been reported before, you are allowed 3 warnings before a suspention.
Send that report in

Yes you should report him, the fact that he actually got off of the bus and yelled at you, when he should have been getting people to there next destination was wrong. Whats to say next time he would'nt actually hit somebody. He needs to be talked to, or made to take a vaction to de-stress or something. That is absolutely no excuse. REPORT HIM.
