Anything could happen. My daughter had hers push out too although she took care of it. We got them done together the summer she was 13 and on Christmas day of that year it pushed out.

I told her not to get it redone because she has a keloid(sp) there now. That is my advice to you too if your scar is a keloid.

the same thing happened to me the first time i got mine pierced. Some people are just predisposed to having their jewelry reject and some people are not. I have other piercings which healed fine, so I decided to get my navel pierced again. I got it pierced at the top, behind the scar tissue and at the bottom as well (in case the top rejected again). So far both piercings are doing fine and it's been four months. I say if you are able to properly take care of it this time and u want to go through the effort then get it done. But it is possible that it will reject again. If it does, make sure you remove the jewelry before it pushes all the way through or else u will be left with a nastier scar.

It's up to you. Ask yourself these questions if you consider re piecing it...

How will I do a better job of taking care of my piercing?

Do I have time to take care of it?

If it doesn't work out, what should I do??

I've got my navel pierced 5 years ago. I cleaned it almost 5-6 times each day. For the first month and a half, it hurted. But after that, it got better.
Keep your navel ring on. Don't take it out for 3 months.

It might be tougher to push the needle through the scar tissue but other then that it should work just the same.

No you shouldn't bother. Piercings are no longer the thing to do.
