Please read part of this story i wrote and tell me if it sounds good enough to be published?

"Alone"

Chapter 1

“We have to honey you know Mommy and Daddy don’t have enough money to feed all of you and your Aunt promised she’d take care of you at least for a couple of years.” consoled Abby’s mother.
“But Mommy you can’t just leave us.” Abby said in a trembling voice.
“ Well you’ll have Willy with you and your Aunt isn’t mean. She is very well off and will give you and Willy a wonderful education” Abby’s mother promised.
“Mommy you know that won’t work Aunt Adeline is a witch and she’ll probably send us out west anyways she is just like Grandfather.” Abby exclaimed as she ran to the door determined she would run as far as the west and never come back.
Once outside Abby felt the coldness of the whole world heavily weighing down upon her. How could her parents turn on her like this? Some how she would make it right and bring Willy back to know his parents. Discouraged she decided to swing on her favorite old wooden swing her dad had built her when she was a baby. As she swung s

Who is your audience? I don't know if children would want to read about being abandoned and adults to read about abandoning children.

I have only read a little so I do not know the whole story, but I love to read and i think you need to figure out who you are marketing to before you try to write a book. Publisher's want to publish something that is going to sell.
