because it is something that is completely yours. nobody can ever have MY tattoos. and they have a great meaning to me. plus, once you start getting really great art it is just hard to stop. you want more and more. tattoos are definitely addictive like drugs but they allow us to be productive members of society... regardless of what some people think!

Tattoos addictive b cause they reflect your personal taste and style. A tattoo says alot about u and your experiences 4 example if u had a baby u may put your kid name on u. If u believe n GOD u make get a religious symbol. Life changes and so does your experience so u continue 2 get them 2 reflect u and your thought at that time n your life. Tattoos r just body art, u use your body as a canvas painting your life story.

Tattoos may also be addicting... to a factor. Keep in brain that almost 35% of the populace has tattoos at this factor, however as a rule as little of five% of the ones are "tattooed up freaks." Get what makes you pleased. When it is time to quit, you can realize.

I don’t know. I had an old one covered not long ago and saw a cute tattoo while I was there and would love to get next time. They have better colors than they used to.
I believe there are just some people meant to have tattoos, old souls and all that. Tattoos have been here, I am sure as long as man has.

1. The pain: let's face it if the pain didn't play a part in it, it wouldn't be as rewarding to know you made it through it.
2. The rush: Yes, those endorphins ROCK. Your body can and will crave another natural high!
3. The art: Having amazing work on your body makes you want to cover more of the canvas!
4. Bragging rights: Its kind of like "He who has the most toys wins." But more like he who has the most tats in the most painful places wins. Its a huge commitment that a lot of people chicken out of..why not brag!?

Got to be drugs in the ink Manders.......why else would someone mark themselves with tattoos like a common criminal or drug dealer? Probably a mixture of meth/heroin/cocaine....... Not much of course....just enough to give you a taste.... My question.... Is this a plot by ink manufacturers or does each individual artist add the drugs to his own ink? ... Inquiring minds want to KNOW

Besides the endorphine rush, the artwork, and the 'walking thru fire' aspect, I like to think that there's one more thing to it:
A tattoo is the only thing you acquire in life, that you take to the grave with you.

I know for me tats are a way of turning mental pain into real pain. after the death of my grandfather i got a tat with his name on it i have since had 2 more with him on them. Every time i look at my tats (i have 10) it reminds me of a hard time in my life. But since my tat work i have been able to cope better. I have had a feeling of relief.

the endorphines released when getting the tattoo...your body craves that "high" again.
