I've been talking to this girl for awhile now and were starting to hangout. Im pretty sure she likes me and im all for dating her but here is the thing...shes 14 turns 15 this summer and im 17 and turn 18 this fall. Would it be immoral to date her? Should I talk to her and see what her parents views are, or should I just go for it?

Yes--while I'm sure she's a great girl, she's 14. At 17 that's not a big issue, but you're 17. You're going to go to college soon, not to mention that it will is illegal to have sex with her once you turn 18.

Honestly, I would just stay friends until she hits 18. That way you can go to college without worrying that you're going to cheat on her or break her heart, but at the same time you both can wait until you are mature adults.

Dating is one thing. If you have sex with her you *could* be facing statutory rape charges and you do NOT want that. The age gap isn't that big a deal but you have to know what's involved.

It's not a bad idea to meet her parents so they can get to know you. If things are done behind their back even if nothing is wrong and nothing has happened it seems secretive and can make them suspicious of the relationship. Be above board and up front with them and it should be fine. Be prepared though that they may not want her to date anyone yet regardless of age.

When I first met my boyfriend he was 16 and I was 13. However because of the age gap we didn't act on anything. We finally got together when I was 19. We have now been together for 5 years and are planning on getting married. If its meant to be it will be, give it time.

Forget about the morality for a moment, soon it's going to be illegal (in most states). It's not worth the risk....Even though some might see a law like that as silly (you can date while you're both "too young", but once one of you ages out, it becomes wrong?), but if those are the laws in your step, fuggetaboudit.

talking to her parents is probably the best way to go no matter how awkward it may seem. you'll be in college next year and she's only a freshman right now, how long can it last anyway? i don't think the relationship is a very good idea, she's so young and needs some time on her own, but if you are really willing to put up through it all, i think..........MORE POWER TO YA!

tough one. The age difference would be nothing if you were 22 and she were 20, but I can see how people would judge you now. But you seem like an honorable guy. Talk to her parents and get to know them and I'm sure they won't have any objections. As long as your honest up front

That's not that big of an age gap at all. Go for it! You're smart to ask about her parents' views b/c that is extremely important and shows you care about not getting her in trouble.

I think that you should go for it. If the two of you have a connection and enjoy spending time with each other the age difference shouldn't matter to either of you.

I wouldn't mess w/ her. I've known a few girls <13-15> who were dating guys around 18 and ended up getting pregnant. It's never a good thing.....

Try talking to her parents. That'll score you some EXTRA points. But other than that, I don't think that dating her will be bad, unless you have bad intentions and if you are planning on or counting on sex or anything.
