First thing you should do is go to see your doctor! Explain fully how you feel. Its a good idea before you go to the appointment to write down how your feeling and give it to your doctor. Put it into a envelope and seal it, don't open it, just give it to your doctor. Do not feel silly or foolish about it, there is nothing to feel silly or foolish about! Why? Well most of us when attending an appointment, for some reason, once we are there, we leave out details. The more detail you give the better that a doctor can try to help you. Take it from me, don't sit and wonder why you feel the way you do! Make the next step by seeing your doctor. Ask to see a therapist, you will be surprised at how they can help you. They have a lot of experience and are very good listeners, they will pick up on the things that you perhaps don't see, or should i say the things that are not obvious to you in the way you are feeling. I have been through such an episode, and understand how you feel. I took therapy and learned so much about myself, which in turn gave me insight into why and what triggers off these feelings. So my dear, you did the right thing by making the first step, you asked your question here to everyone, good for you! Now first thing you should do is, "Follow through by going to see your GP". Thats the next step. Dont be shy, lots of people suffer with these same feelings. Anything you say to a GP or therapist is confidential, between you and them, it goes no further, which will enable you to say all the things you want to. I hope that you take this advice, it comes from the heart for you from me! Hey, "be pruod of yourself" for getting out here and asking peolple. Remember, "each step you take is the next step to recovery"! Im always here if you'd like to talk or share your thoughts and feelings, but do make that appointment. Id be happy to hear how you got on and how your feeling. Greetings, Sheila!

May be a inherited behavior.. My Depression comes from my Mother's side. If it is to bad, you might look into getting a prescription for Lexapro or some other drug. Its a brain chemical thing, or lack there off... sometimes it just cant be helped by exercise.

First off I think you should figure out what is causing you to feel this way and try to do simple things to fix the problems. If you dont think you can do it alone you should talk to your doctor. There is a way out of what you feel you have to find out what the cause is to be able to crush it.

I know it sounds cliched, but exercise!! It produces endorphins which will make you feel better. And also look better, which will improve your self esteem.
Otherwise spend lots of time with people who make you feel good

Why not try some exercise, like yoga or aerobics? It might not solve your problems but it will help you to feel good!
