I guess its best not to assume that the size of the shirts or jeans will shrink. Check the labels. If still in doubt, ask the sales consultant. Unless, of course, if you're prepared to put on some weight.

Well I wouldn't buy pants a size to big in case you get bigger, that just would make it easier for you pig out and be unhealthy.
Jeans do shrink a tiny bit in the wash, but sometimes they are preshrunk so check the label. The same goes for shirts. 100 cotton shirts will shrink a bit in the dryer, but sometimes it will say preshrunk on the label.
Jeans do stretch out a bit after you wear them, so keep that in mind too.

Jeans, hmmm, I don't know. But there are several shirts that will shrink. I like to buy shirts made of cotton a size larger, b/c they will almost always shrink

Most clothes that shrink in the wash aren't supposed to be in the wash. I would suggest buying clothes to fit. Clothes don't last forever so if you do get bigger its just easier to buy new clothes.
