2) Interview! Get the information. Talk to the other mothers.

Hello,
Unfortunately now days, a good daycare is really hard to find. I used to work in a daycare, that honestly I would not put my own child into. The best way is to find friends and family who use daycare services and find out what they think of their's and also do a little research into places such as Kinder-care, and preschools. Also, talk with the local schools because sometimes they can recommend a good day care that several of the families at the school use.
Good luck to you.

Word of mouth is the best reference guide you could ever have. Ask other mothers from your area where their kids go to daycare. Also an important thing to do is go to the daycares for surprise visits and ask for references. Not just of people that send their kids there now, but of previous people who sent their kids there. Of course the parents whos kids are going there like it, but find out why people have taken thier kids out of the daycare also. You might find out some of the not positive things that way also.

A daycare that seems to be very reputable would be good. Also, the caregivers seems really nice and answer alot of questions and show you that they care are really good too.

Make a surprise visit to a few of them. Look for good staff to child ratios. The required ratios vary from state to state if you're in the U.S. Make sure the area is clean, outlets are covered, there are a variety of unbroken, age-appropriate toys available. Talk to the staff, and make sure they are well-trained. Take a checklist you of questions you want to ask.
