I left a job on bad terms when i moved out of state. I was wondering if there was a way to get my 1040 from the State without having to talk to a boss that is mad at me for leaving without notice. Any thoughts because I really don't want to talk to this former job at all.

I believe you are talking about your W-2. A 1040 is a form you send to the IRS. Your former employer should have sent your W-2 form by Jan. 31,2007. If your former employer has a HR department, you can call to speak with someone there. If you must speak with your former boss, then so be it. The IRS don't take kindly to excuses, of any kind, when it comes to reporting all income. If all else fails, call the IRS. I'm pretty sure they can/will help you with this matter. Good luck

You don't get a "1040" from an employer. You get a Form W-2 from your employer.

If you didn't receive your Form W-2, you MUST contact the employer. There is NO other way to do this.

Since you moved out of state they probably don't have your current address and you probably failed to file a change of address with the Post Office.

Unless that boss was the meanest ogre on the planet, he or she is long past any anger from your departure. Just call and give them your current address so that they can send you your W-2.

You want a copy of your 1040? This is the form you use to file your Federal taxes - you'd need to contact the IRS.

If you need your W2 (statement of earnings) from your former job, you need to call them (sorry!) You may want to check the last address the company had on file for you since that is probably where it was mailed.

Simply go to your post office for a 1040; your employer must only furnish you the w-4 form for tax filing.

The 1040 is the filing format for tax returns.

In the event your emplyer needs to furnish you a W-4 and they have not, you can file a complaint with the IRS who can cause them pain in the form of penalties for failing to furnish you with a w-4 tax witholding statement as required by law.
