Everything grows old and "dies". Including sour cream yeah it has a bacteria added to it and you probably think of bacteria as something bad there for you think that it's already bad so how can it go bad. Well you need to read up on bacteria then come back and say your sorry to the people who were nice enough to try and answer your question.

Even Sour Cream goes bad . Usually it has an expiration date . But what you can do is make some Enchiladas Suiza before it goes completely bad . Remember it is good for 7 days after the expiration date . If your not into cooking from scratch you can get a can of Las Palmas Green Enchilada sauce and mix the sour cream with that. Then boil some chicken in a pot with onions cilantro and garlic, and a few Caldo De Pollo, maybe 3 of them and boil . When it cools bone it and make enchiladas and use the sauce you made to dip your tortillas in , then with the left over sauce drizzle of your enchiladas and put some 4 cheese blend Mexican cheese and sprinkle on top and bake for 1/2 at 350%covered but make sure you tent the oil so it doesn't stick to the cheese.

One way to find out if the sour cream is going bad is by the mold (or that green stuff) is growing on the sour cream. Another way is by smell. If it has mold or smells bad, then you know that the sour cream is no longer good. You shouldn't sample the sour cream because it could be harmful for your health and you can end up in the ER. I apologize if I hurt anyones feelings in anyway, but it is true.

Milk products don't last forever, just like milk, yogurt and cottage cheese, sour cream has a certain life span.

It is going undesirable, when I see little dots of blue mildew on it. even with the undeniable fact that, i contemplate whether which could even harm me, in view that's bitter cream.:) even with the undeniable fact that, I toss it out at that element. verify the expiration date and bypass from there.
