Sin was brought in by Satan.
A lot of people would like to say God "set Adam and Eve up", but that is so far from truth.
With Adam and Eve, the question you should be asking is why didn't they just obey? They knew God created everything, so his abilities were evident. So why didn't they simply obey was he said. It wasn't about the fruit, nor the tree, nor the garden. He could have said the same about the tree of Life. They disobeyed - plain and simple.

Satan was the culprit. But since Adam and Eve sinned (disobeyed God) they had to face punishment. It can't be any more basic than that.

It's amazing that people will blame God for this by saying "He's in control" and "He knows all."
Those same individuals later blame him for giving us "free will". Talk about your flip-flop.
Adam and Eve had free will, so they inducted that into making thier CHOICE, which was against what God asked them NOT to do.

Easy to blame Adam and Eve for sinning and the rest of us suffer because of them. Same as when some people blame God for man's corrupting the world. Blame, blame, blame, when in reality, all of us would have sinned at some point in our lives if we were created first. We need to take our vicious pointer finger and direct it to ourselves and then repent. Plain and simple.

Had they not been tricked by the enemy, they would've continued to obey God. You must remember, they were like children. Naive and trusting in nature, pure of spirit (soul). Sin entered the world through them, their actions that is not because they were created. They still had free will. God didn't set them up. That is not His design to be deceitful. God wanted Mankind to live in Paradise. Our choices bring us face to face with sin. To blame a Loving and Merciful God is simply a copout.

yes satan tempted them in the garden, and they gave in to their flesh.
But when you think about this, God allowed it because God is in control of everything--and the reason He allows this to happen is for HIS glory and His plan of salvation through Jesus Christ.....because of sin, we now have redemption through Jesus Christ, what an awesome gift God has given us!
But you have to believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ, and repent in order to receive it.
We all fall short of God's glory, yes---because of Adam and Eve we all now sin, we are all born into sin.
We all need Christ.
God had a plan from the beginning and in the end HE is glorfied, and that is what matters. What God does is all Good! He does not cause us to sin....but he does allow us to be tempted and he does not let us be tempted beyond what we can handle. To Believers: 1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
-Also Proverbs 16:4 says "God has made everything for a purpose, even the wicked for the day of evil"
Rest in knowing God has it all in His hands, and when you are a child of His, you have nothing to fear.....He conquered our sin and it is through Jesus Christ! What a wonderful and mighty and awesome God we have!

," thousands of generations must suffer" because they still choose to disobey God. A lot of times we bring calamity on ourselves and we blame God when we and our foolish and sinful choices are the culprit. Sorry it is really that simple.

I agree with you, that it was what I call, the "sin of disobedience" which was offensive to God.( I can understand this so clearly as a mother of 3 kids). The devil tempted them to disobey God and they fell for it.

Adam and Eve had their test. THis is our test. Who says we are suffering? or that we will suffer? There is no such thing as original sin (not trying to be disrespectful).

So, you are saying thr serpent was Satan?
Interesting, if non-Biblical, view.
that, like going to church, is one of those things that evolved in Christian tradition after it had been around for a while.
