The whole point in asking her out is to get to know her. Let her know that.
To get the most of the date, take her somewhere in which you can talk and get her really comfortable. Women love to talk about themselves and are not used to men being so attentive. Movies are bad, but making dinner at your house is good. If you can't cook try to do something original. But think of it before you ask her out and present it to her. Something like "Hey Lisa there's a new exhibit at the museum I was thinking about checking out and I was wondering if you would join me." Good Luck!

A little. You need to know if you have things in common probably. Otherwise you might be stuck out on a date who you share no interests with and don't have anything to talk about with. But you don't have to be like best friends with her or anything like that - that's why you're going out with her in the first place - to enjoy her company and to get to know her a little better, right?

Have you ever bought a pair of shoes without trying them on? I did one, but the left one squeaks when I walk. Always has, always will. Now the right one has started in. get to know her so that asking is not out of the blue
but dont stalk her
the date is a place where you are supposed to et to know her better
but know her as a friend or at least an aquataince

yea you should talk to her more and learn more about her it could take a week or 2 mothes you never know but then you know her personailty a bit more and maybe coulkd tell a bit more about the relationship before getting into something bad.
