Only use shampoo for premed or color treated hair. Get a good conditioner too.
I like Tresemme or Pantene. Some of the cheap shampoos will make your hair feel coarse, kind of like horse hair. No one wants that.

use herbal essences "hello hydration" a perm causes damage and causes breakage of the hair it tends to become very dry as well use the shampoo and conditioner before and after your perm. also use Neutrogena rinse-out deep conditioner every day or every other day. let me know how your hair turns out!

use whatever you want - they tell you just not to shampoo it for 24-48 hours after you get it so the chemicals set - it should be ok to shampoo now -
