Most people when they first wake up have breakfast because they are hungry. When i first wake up, the last thing I feel like is food, I feel sick, and I never eat breakfast, my first meal is usually about 2 hours after I wake up. Can anyone tell me why this happens?

Breakfast is the last thing I want when I first get up as well. I try to drink some juice to get me going but normally don't have "breakfast" until I've been up at least an hour.

Some people have to wait until their metabolism "wakes up" before they can eat. I like to say that my digestive track sleeps in.

It may be bad habit. I'm rarely hungry in the morning, but eat breakfast anyway. It may also be that you eat a lot of sugary foods and people who eat a lot of sugar tend to have a problem with breakfast. You probably feel sick because you have low blood sugar when you wake up, and eating would actually make you feel better sooner.

I do the same thing, I have no interest in breakfast at all, and typically don't eat until noon. Everything you read says this is not good, but that doesn't give me an appetite. Maybe we need to use up some calories before we feel hungry! I imagine it is better to eat first, then work off the calories, guess we have it turned around.

When some people wake up, they feel a tinge of nausea and they may be tired from the work done the previous night if you have done any. Make sure you get at least 8 hours of sleep every day and that you are not a night owl. That should ensure that you are fresh and ready; hopefully you will feel hungry too.

Hi there,

Well there are several reasons for that. A point to note is that appetite varies depending on your schedule, more specifically, work schedule. Work-doesn't just mean a particular work, it's anything we do throughout day or night. Also, If you have no immediate engagements after waking up, your mind is less likely to invoke your appetite. Nothing to worry about that. Hope this has answered your question. If yes, then what you're saying??Reply!!

First off...you need to figure out why you feel sick when you first wake up.

Second off...you NEED to eat something for breakfast. Even a protein shake is going to be something.

I have no idea what that happens and I suggest you get it checked out.

well...most people spend much more energy and burn much more chalories that you and some of us do. It is not strange if you consider that they lose energy and are eager and in need to regain it through breakfast. Think about athletes....there is no way you could find someone who does not have a proper breakfast.

Breakfast boosts your metabolism and as a result you have a better and healthy diet!
