Me to You, I'd be happy to answer this question for for you.
PSYCHIATRIST= You can talk to & he/she will listen, but with
very little feedback and has an M.D., just like your Dr. therefore can prescibe medictions to you respectfully on your
behalf and he/she conclusions. Attendence: usually once a month or however, the case and scenario. However, feel them overly ready to Medicate their clients, why cause they can and depend on your coming back. They're are cheap and
or covered by O.H.I.P. in Canada {end}
PHYCOLOLGIST= Expensive, no presriptions or M.D. and basically more inclined to listen, evaluate, and prognosis you. Will listen with open ears and stear you along a path which would be more inclined for you, give you feedback and
visits more personable as he/she takes your "encounters"and
very seriosly, where as the above concerns they're selves on
"Did you need more presciptions today?" "So to speak"
In all essence I guess what you pay for, my preference is the later one who devotes time and energy on the patient. {end}
I hope I have answered your question thoroughly for you?
Take Good Care,
Summer

To start off about 50 dollars an hour at least, second the amount of education psychaiartrist will be more educated and can prescribe medication....a phycologist is less educated and can not prescribe medication...how ever,

Psychiatrists are , to me, a waste of time, they try to take every thing back to your child hood and don't address current day issues .......they are not generally "well" themselves....stay away!!

A psychologist does counselling and cannot prescribe meds, but he/she can consult with a psychiatrist who can prescribe meds. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor like your family doctor, but who has had extra years of training in psychiatric medicine. The psychiatrist can prescribe meds and does very little counselling and uses very little behavioral strategies to help you. Oftentimes a person needs both a psychologist and a psychiatrist to address both aspects of the problem: the meds for the biochemical imbalance in the body, and the behavioral strategies and counselling to help you.

Psychologist is like a counselor. If you want to be a marriage counselor you become a psychologist. They can't write Rx.

A psychologist is a social scientist who studies psychology, the study of the human mind, thought and human behaviour. Psychologists are usually categorised under a number of different fields, the most well-recognised being clinical psychologists, who provide mental health care, and research psychologists, who collect, investigate and analyse aspects of human behaviour.

Psychiatry is a branch of medicine that studies and treats mental and emotional disorders (mental illness). While any physician may prescribe the medications used to treat various forms of mental illness, psychiatrists are more extensively trained in differential diagnosis of mental illness and keep up to date on the newest treatment modalities for mental illness. ...

so...

A Psychologist will sit with you for an hour or so and talk with you about what is going on in your life and give you advice on how to deal with things. A Psychiatrist has you sit there for 10 min and writes you out prescriptions and says $200.00 please
