Something can by a myth, while still being true.
While parts of the Bible may not be literally true, factual events, they can still be metaphorically true.
To use an example, presumably you are aware that neither Uncle Ben, nor Peter Parker (a.k.a. Spiderman) are actual, true living beings.
However, Uncle Ben's message to Peter, that "with great power comes great responsibility" can still be a true, valid message. It is metaphorically true, even though espoused by fictional characters.
Even if the Bible were written by two guys in a New York office in 1932 (which we have pretty good evidence it was not), and every single word in it was fictional, that would still not have an effect on the metaphorical truth of the Bible.
If the words have meaning to you, and convey a message of hope, faith and salvation, then they are true, even if the events described are mythical.

Lack of critical thinking and reasoning skills.
It's that simple.
You can "call" something anything you want -- call a dog a giraffe, call your car a locomotive, call the bible "truth"...saying something is so doesn't *make* it so. Only evidence can do that...and there is no evidence the bible is "truth" of any kind. Oh, there are some interesting things there, some cool psalms, some sexy stuff, some good philosophy, and even a teeny, tiny bit of accurate history. But the un-truthful parts outweigh the truthful parts by about 10-1 -- not a very good ratio.
Peace.

Calling it a "myth" is your view; you've not given any proof of that. People who become christians investigate and find God responding to their investigations.
With regard to us christians it is a matter of the bible revealing that the whole Universe was created for Jesus, and also that we are in need of salvation by atonement. It is also revealing that there is life beyond physical death. Those are pretty significant things if true.
If they are realities the Bible is reavealing very important truth that we need to know to steer our way through life and beyond successfully.

Because it is not a myth and it is the truth.
Who can confirm it is myth?
Who can PROVE it is a myth? No one.
But we who are being saved, can prove it is the truth, because the truth lives in us--and it is the power of God!
1 Corinthians 1:18
[ Christ the Wisdom and Power of God ] For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

My truth is your myth, but your truth is my enemy. There's an eternity of difference between the two.

without accepting your premise that the bible is 'only myth', I reject your implicit assumption that something that is myth is not true. Myth can contain much truth, usually truth which cannot be conveyed in any other way.

That's a big "IF" and an assumption on your part. There are many factual evidences of the literal reality of the Bible. However, that is not the reason I believe in the Bible. I have prayed about it and have received a "witness" that the words in there are true and are the road map to true happiness, both in this world and the world to come.
