My fiancé and I met about a year ago. We're in a long distance relationship (he's Canadian, I'm American), and we're planning on getting married next June here in Central Ohio. He isn't religious in the least, and while I have my beliefs, getting married in a church is not important to me. In fact, I really DON'T want to be married in a church, because it just seems like that's what most people do, and I want to do something a little unconventional, or just not as common. I would love to be married outside, but the unpredictability of the weather makes me hesitant to do so (although it's not out of the question - if we do it though, it will be later in the afternoon/early evening). So I guess what I am asking is for any indoor, non-church locations for a wedding in Central Ohio. Thanks guys!

The wedding will probably still be a religious ceremony, just not inside of a church.

First off, congrats to the two of you. I DJ weddings in Central Ohio and have been to some unique places. The Columbus Zoo seems to be the most popular "different" spot. I've also done stuff at the Franklin Park Conservatory. I also know that the Columbus Museum of Art will do them, but they are on the expensive side. If you're a sports fan, check into getting married at Ohio Stadium (home of the football Buckeyes) or Crew Stadium. Good Luck!

I have a small wedding accessory business in Dayton. I know of someone that had a wedding at the Columbus Zoo. There are also museums or public (city, state, county) locations that are usually not expensive to rent that would make beautiful locations of have a wedding outdoors.

You don't have to give money.... Pick a gift.... The average gift is around 50$ I got married last july and we got anything from 20$ to 700$ the majority of gifts that were money were 50$ but just give what you can and no one will care. It is just the excitement of the day. Your Boyfriend is already doing a BIG thing by being the best man and in reality the groom should be giving him a gift and may give him a gift. but anything from 40-50$ is appropriate. But if you can't do that then what ever you can give is fine.

You really should reconsider the church wedding. You should learn more about it, more about a religious marriage, it would mean so much more to the both of you later on in life when you come to realize what God has set forth for you.

Just HOW central are you?
Columbus? Zanesville, Springfield?
Without knowing exactly it's hard to give you ideas.
