Im 22, and have had acne since I was about 18/19....Lately it has improving to mild at worst...Im wondering if this will ever go away? Lately I've also been noticing it's been a bit oily...more than usual...is this because my pores are unclogging? i've been using retin-a micro for about 6 months and it seems to be working decently...anyone else experiencing this at my age? when did yours finally go away?

Depends. If ur acne is hereditary, u might want to look into how long ur relatives had it for. If its just a day to day thing, then yes it should go away if u keep up with it. The scars will be with u all ur life.

if you're still having problems after using retin-a micro for 6 months, I'd go back to the dermotologist. You may need to take some meds too, to help the acne go away.

I had some slight problems in my teens, but was put on meds to clear it up AND used different creams or gels (like retin-a).

It still hasn't disappeared, but it has improved dramatically over the years. Make sure you're washing your face with a good acne soap at least twice a day. The doctor can also give you prescriptions for special face washes, if you need them. That should help with some of the oil problems, I'd think. But I'd definitely check it out with the doctor. These days, NO ONE has to suffer with any type of acne.

Have you seen a dermatologist? Acne is hereditary and if your parents or someone in your family had it your likely to get too. It also comes from having a poor diet. If your eating a lot of greasy foods this can bring on acne as well. Try eating more veggies, fruits, and drink plenty of water. This should help balance out your diet.

I highly recommend Proactiv and drinking 7 glasses of water every day. Proactiv is about $20 for a month's supply. It is worth it, my skin feels so smooth after I use it.
