I don't know about diets, but CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) has been proven to help. It is something that must be taken over a long term basis for the best results. It has even been found to work in people who are doing nothing to change their lifestyle - though, the best results show up within 3 months with people who are eating healthier and exercising moderately. You need to take 3600mg per day. From my understanding, it shuttles glycogen to muscles so that the energy is used, not stored as fat. A brand name is Tonalin, but many supplement companies carry their own form of it.

Check with your doctor.
