What does it taste like?
And Im having crab cakes for dinner which do you think is better on the ( tail suce or tarter sauce)???

Tartar sauce is awesome! Especially the stuff with lemon in it. It's like $1.35 a bottle so go get some and try it!

It's tartare sauce. And I love it! Here's a recipe.
250 ml bechamel sauce
1 - 2 egg yolks
1 x 15 ml spoon single cream
1 5 ml spoon chopped gherkins
1 x 15 ml chopped capers
1 x 10 ml spoon chopped parsley
lemon juice or white wine vinegar.
Cool the sauce, if necessary. Mix the egg yolks and cream, and stir in a little of the sauce. Add this to the rest of the sauce. Heat the sauce gently, without boiling, to cook the egg yolk. Stir the gherkins, capers and parsley into the sauce. Add lemon juice or vinegar to taste. use at once.

tarter sauce my homemade recipe is 1/2 cup mayo,1/4 cup sweet pickle relish &a few drops of lemon juice. mix well & serve

tarter sauce is good but i am not found of the sweet variety in stead of sweet pickle relish i like to add either diced dill pickle or dill pickle relish. also you can buy a good shrimp cocktail sauce & add some tabasco & extra horse radish to it . have both (maybe not together) hope it is good for you

i would serve a creole mustard sauce - see recipe below:
1 tablespoon minced garlic
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon chopped parsley leaves
2 tablespoons chopped green onions
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 tablespoon Creole or whole-grain mustard (Dijon)
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons mayonnaise

tartar sauce is nothing more than mayonaise with pickle relish in it,plain and simple,try both and you choose which you like best.

Use mayonnaise and pickle relish. I make my own all the time.
Of course it tastes like mayonnaise and pickle. Try it you'll like
it.

tartar sauce is really good but i really prefer melted butter. i think it gives you a completely different favor.
