In class complain about something or say something witty in his direction. Once you have his attention keep the conversation going, but don't keep the attention to just your friend, give him some time to talk to... That should be a start.

Pretend like you dont know his name and walk to him and ask him... What is your name? Then when he tells you (which i know he will) Flirt with him just a little not to much... tell him your name.. talk about things that you normally would talk about with a guy friend!
