My cat was sick last week and threw up his food and then he seemed listless for a couple of days. He seems fine now but after hearing of the food recall I check my pouches and all of them were on the recall list. Should I take him to the vet?

Vomiting and diarrahea and listlessness were other symptoms.

I'd take my cat to the vet and have its kidney function tested. The cats that died did so from kidney failure. It would be worth knowing if your cat suffered permanent kidney damage from this experience. Though it cannot be reversed, there are things that can be done medically to support cats with poor kidney function and if there is some type of class action lawsuit later, you'd have documentation to assist with any claim for compensation in the future. If your cat has fully recovered, then your mind could be at ease.

Definetely have him checked out at the Vet. Do you still have the pouches of food?? Keep them. You might need them for that company to pay for your bill.
Good luck for your cat!

Yes, you should. They believe the food is causing kidney disease and/or failure. The signs your describing are signs of kidney disease (but they could also be signs of about a hundred different illnesses). Its probably better to be safe though and have your vet do some bloodwork to make sure his kidneys are functioning normally.

Though animals are stronger than humans when it comes to some food poisonings - I would DEFINETLY take him to your vet just to be safe!!!! Poor baby! Puking IS their best alternative!

no energy, whites of the eyes are yellow, vomiting up food.
I would take it to the vet to get a blood test to be on the safe side.
