this is a rhetorical question as not even bush would be foolish enough to enforce the draft......but if they do,seeing that its the new millenium, should women be forced in right along side men?

this should be interesting

NO, women should not be drafted, there would be few to take care of the children and elderly. This happening would be unlikely, but not impossible.

personally i dint think that woman should in any way be involved in combat, i am not saying they are incapable, only that it brings up to many issues. there are many things they could do in the military just not combat. if you have seen all of the old war movies that have been made you would see it is no place for the women to fight along side with the men. if one falls behind there is a greater chance that the whole platoon could be risked just to save her. it is different for men. so no i don't think they should be forced into the draft. i think we will have more casualties than ever before if we did.

the draft is a democrat initiative and only one democrat at that. The republicans have been very open and adamant in their opinion of the draft. NO draft. To answer your question, IF the need was that great we should. But with what is going on now, no. Just as in WWII Women worked to fill the slots opened by men going off to do their duty. Why would this be any different?

Well I dont think so but I am a women, my husband feels he would rather be with men too, he said they are less of a distraction if they get hurt, not meaning he would leave them behind but most men feel weaker to women.. as far as her being in a combat MOS no... yes it is proved women handle pressure better, but men handle long term pressure better... I dont no tho, gosh I hope they dont draft me.. they would have to send the hunt on cause I would hide.. Now for women, if we as the US were looking for someone, I think the women would be great.. Just tell her that her husband cheated on her with whoever we were hunting for.. and it would be on she would find them in mach speed.. LOL good luck with your answers and I will check back later too... so I can see what others said

As a friend of mine used to say:

Bring it on!

Out of the 58,000 plus American Servicemen killed in the War in Vietnam, only 8 were women.

Of the 3200 plus American Servicemen killed in Iraq to date, 72 are women (2 percent).

Maybe we should spread the pain out a little more.

And instead of drafting the 18 year olds first. Let' s start with the 40 year olds and go down.

Yes. If women didn't want to be drafted, they shouldn't have wanted to join the military back in the 70s-80s. Of course, I still don't want women fighting in combat, so they would be drafted for desk jobs and there would not be as many drafted.

Oh gosh! I hope not cause I would be a horrible soldier. Im way too much of a girly-girl and I would just cry the whole time.

TEAM CHIEF: I hear you, but just know that not all of us women are wanting to live a man's life. I am all for equal respect for different roles. I'm a girl and I think my husband likes me that way. Besides, the more of a girl I am... the more of a man he feels like.

The women would serve a medical personell and support services just as they do now. Combat arms is strategicly a bad idea.

100% yes, now im not saying this just to say it but i truly feel this way. For hundreds of years women were fighting for equal rights and they finally in my opinion have it. So why not women. Should their equal rights change. Should they be able to chose when they are less. I don't think so.

Why not! They can take bullets as good as men can and getting pregnant to get out of battle like my dad said many did in the first Gulf War should no longer be a cop out.
