It depends on the airline you are flying with. It should tell you when you book or on your ticket! Also... - Do you mean hold or hand baggage?

Check with your airline but generally it is 1 5KG of hand luggage per person and 20KG of luggage although some airlines are now reducing this to 15KG.

please bare in mind that most airlines now class 20kg as extra luggage and you have to pay extra for this. (all money making for them) 15kg is often standard for holidays from the uk. The best thing you can do is check your tickets. make sure you make the most of your hand luggage allowance if it is the case you only are allowed 15kg in the hold.

KLM, Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines will let 20 kg baggage per person, and up to 8 kg hand luggage.
Ask the airline when you're buying the ticket.

Just one piece of hand baggage is allowed through Customs, regardless of where you're flying to.
The max weight is usually 5kg, but this varies from airline to airline. However, the maximum size for hand baggage is set by Customs and Excise.
Here are the max measurements (from www.baa.com, the British Airports Authority):
Hand baggage restrictions
Passengers are allowed to carry ONE item of hand baggage, no larger than:
56 centimetres tall (approximately 22 inches)
45 centimetres wide (approximately 17.7 inches)
25 centimetres deep (approximately 10 inches)
through the airport security search point. Please note, this is the maximum bag size allowed through security. Smaller bag sizes may apply depending on which airline you travel with. Contact your airline or visit the specific airport website for further information:
