So my girlfriend i recently found out has been having sex with a guy she has known for about 5 years and she has lied about him and says she never heard of him until i found out about her cheating on me. so we are trying to work things out but i keep finding stuff from months ago that she has lied about and will lie about to this day, she is a Pathological Liar. Do i forgive her or am i setting myself up for more heartbreak?

I was married for just 6 years. During that time I cheated on my wife very much and I too am a pathalogical liar. We tried to work things out but my lying did it in. Regardless of that, I am still a pathalogical liar as it is almost like a disease. Lies just come out automatically. So in that regard, you may be setting yourself up again. One thing though that you can try, because I see that you love this woman very much, is to learn to recognize when she is lying. It could be the simple movement of an eye, a twitch, etc. Once you obtain this knowledge and you are in the midst of conversation and you recognize it, give your lady a chance to back up and tell the truth. The hope would be that she will lose her reasons for lying and be more open and honest with you. Risky, but might work.

Get rid of her,,,you are setting yourself up for some serious heart break. You know she is the wrong person for you. She obviously dont care about you in the least bit or your feelings. Why stay with someone who has issues and is a liar and a cheat when there are sooo many girls out there that would probably love to go out with you,,And treat you the way you deserve to be treated. Lose this girl she is no good for you. And dont let her talk you into staying with her,,,You deserve alot better.

well...do you love her? why not try sitting her down and have a nice long talk. you can start off by saying "this is the time for honesty" don't run her down in the ground. maybe ask her questions that you already know the answers to and see what she says. IF you want to work it out. if not, just move on. i used to be kinda like her, but it was my parents that i lied to. but now that i've grown up and have kids of my own, i don't do that any more. we do change, ya know.

i think your just asking for more pain with her, most relationships end not because of the initial thing, but the cover up. because unless she is willing to admit this happened, she can never be remorseful or make amends. think unless u want years of this u need to give it up. also she could always leave u and choose him over u, which will hurt even more if u keep investing in something that has no chance.

Either you get her help or you get rid of her. Sounds like a setup for a heartbreak brother. We all lie but someone who consistently does it should be avoided at all cost.

Are you nuts!?!?! Why are you still with this person? A leopard cannot change its spots. She will always lie to you, and even if she changed (highly unlikely), then you could never be sure if she was telling you the truth or not.

Sometimes people like that need help. I think that if shes still around she love you. I think that you should try to help her out. Try to back away a little make her work to gain your trust back. Depending on what she does you should know if she loves you enough. You should forgive... Its not good to stay mad. Let her show you she can change.. If she wants to...

Yes, by all means stay with her and work it out. Start by buying her a club and asking her to beat you in the head the next time you start believing anything that comes out of her mouth. Dude, please. What would you tell your best buddy if he was in your shoes?
