I work 2 different jobs, I am single with no dependents. One of my employer's told me to file (Single; 0) on my tax filing paper work (Full-time Job). While the other employer stated thated that I file (Single; 1) on my tax documents (Part-Time Job). What is the reasoning behind these numbers who was right and should I change my status?
Only serious responses Please!
Thank you.

You should fill out the worksheet on page 2 of Form W-4 to calculate the correct withholding. The number of exemptions you come up with is the total number you should claim between both jobs. It's very likely that you will come up with a figure for additional withholding. To make sure that you do not come up short at tax time, make SURE that that extra money is withheld from one of your jobs.

Why would you listen to what your employers tell you to claim? You need to ask a tax professional that question.

It all comes down to how much you're making, if you have any write-offs, etc.
