The Seal is thinking of going now too because people create such horribly hateful questions and answers. I am asking you all - we have already lost Pangel and Kallan for a while, and hopefully Laptop will come back under a new name - please tell the Seal how appreciated he is. While I understand that some people need a break, all of us leaving is not the answer. We need all of the tolerance and intelligence we can get. Please save your questions and answers on the computer or back them up on disc so they aren't lost if your account gets deleted. There are so many reports on this site it seems like there would need to be 500,000 people truly monitoring the boards to check on all of them. Please try to remember the love, kindness, respect, and humanity that brought us all together in the first place. It's an absolute pain to have to open a new account but it is worthwhile to be here and learn and help others to do the same.
I hope you decide not to leave, Seal.

May each of us read our questions and answers thoroughly before we post. If our motives are not pure, not seeking knowledge, enlightenment and truth - whatever form that may take, then we need not post.
If you want points - go over to some other less worthy forum.
Escalation resolves nothing. Ignoring is nigh impossible, but resist the "temptation" and resolve to do nothing to the haters - may our testimony bring shame upon them who would seek to discredit the many fine people in this site.
Most of our religions have something similar to "turning the other cheek" or "do no harm".
Above all, let us remember that at the other end of the message is a fellow human being, someone who has opened up to share a bit of themselves with complete strangers.
I am honored to call many in here my friends, regardless of whether they agree with my views or not.
I am glad to see Pangel posting. Seal, please stay. Kallan - come back to us. There are others who are dropping out. We need you.
As my father would say - in paraphrase - if we cannot get along electronically with strangers who've never done any wrong to us, how do we expect to get along with people whose faults we know?

Seal: It's one thing if you need to get a little rest from this, it's easy to get a little too wrapped up in the local politics....If you are thinking of leaving for good because you are no longer interested, that is fine. But if you are thinking of leaving for good because of the trolls and abusers, please reconsider. If you do that, they will have won, and the intelligence and tolerance level of this board will have gone down another couple notches....Add compatible people to your network , whenever you run accross them, and work with them more, it will help to keep you out of the troll's path...Let all these posts show you how much your contribution is truly appreciated, and help to bolster you when your spirits get to low...
Everybody, go look up Marky's idea on the other board, I saw it there earlier, it sounds good to me, and I gave the post a rating...

I think Seal of Orichalcos is a sweetheart, thoughtful and kind. It would be a shame if the only people left on Y/A were the hate mongers. I need to take a break from this stuff too, so I understand, but SoO will be missed.

I posted a message once on the Yahoo!Forum about all this report abusing hell.
My plan was simply to stop deleting reported questions directly. Reported questions would have to come into a special section of Y!A, and level 6 and 7 users could vote on those questions to stay or to be deleted. After a certain percentage would vote for them to be deleted, only then they'd be deleted.
I think the Yahoo users have far more knowlegde of what really goes on in Y!A than the Yahoo staff.
They answered that my plan was stupid and useless. Oh well.

I miss Kallan and Pangel. I wish they would come back. Leaving just lets the trolls win.

There are many on this list, from all perspectives, that abuse the rules and make it difficult for everyone. There are also many people who can discuss issues well and with tact. I hope your friend doesn't leave.
