i have never heard of this. everyone i know had a straight pierce. sounds like she messed up and doesnt want to admit it. mine was straight and there wasn't a problem with a "vein" or something. the top can be further back than the bottom but as far as being crooked left to right to avoid a "vein" is a myth. there are no major veins in the tounge. check out sources.
caution: i did remove mine though because after a few years it was rubbing the enamel off my teeth. also i would put the bar between my two front teeth when playing with it and over time it made a gap (i know not everyone does that, but the enamel thing does happen to everyone so be careful)

they have to pierce it crooked it is impossible to have it straight cause of the way the tongue sits in the mouth. when you stick your tongue out to get it pierced the top portion of your tongue actually comes out a little more then the bottom does so when your tongue goes back in your mouth it is gonna sit crooked its normal

Yes, it is supposed to be off-center on the bottom, because there is a nerve running directly down the middle of the tongue on the bottom ( as you can probably see) and you don't want to put a hole through that. Don't worry, it still looks hot.

i got my tongue pierced about 4 years ago and was told by the fella who did it (which by the way left me papping myself..lol) you do realise that if i hit that vain in the middle you only have x amount of minutes before you bleed to death...i know dead funny!!...thats why its crooked, miss the vain that runs through the tongue..safety reasons.

Yup, its suppose to be crooked cause if you look theres a major vein that runs in the middle of your tongue. Hitting it you would choke on your own blood and die.

There is a main artery that runs through your tongue. The professionals want to miss that when they pierce so you don't bleed to death. I have not heard of any deaths due to this but i guess it is possible.

everyone I've seen has been crooked I believe it has to do with the muscle so you don't loose control of your tongue.

sure it incredibly is nasty, and certainly retarded and dumb finding. Plus, you could no longer communicate or chunk with it, and no person sees it besides, so your only having a marvelous type of soreness yet its no longer extremely worth it.
