Judging the consistency of a biscuit prior to dunking is a fine art and determines the amount of time a biscuit may be submerged for before it loses its natural shape.

here is a quick dunking table to help you

rich tea 3s
chocolate digestive 5s
hobnob 7-10s
ginger nut 10+

My personal fave bicky for dunking has got to be the chocolate hob nob. These little beauties can really handle a dunking and only melt in your mouth, so don't worry your self with sinking breakoffs. An excellent alternative is a penguins melt, this is achieved by biting two small diagonal corners off, then use the biscuit as a straw, the moment you taste the tea/coffee come through the biscuit place biscuit in mouth relax and journey to heaven.
Sorry about punctuation my game's biscuits not typing.

Milk chocolate homewheats are my flavour of the month right now. It sounds weird but I just run my tongue over the biscuit and lick off any loose crumbs before I dunk it and I never hold it in the tea for more than a couple of seconds so it is nice and soggy but not at the point where it is going to drop off. Sometimes I just bite off some dry biscuit and then take a swig of tea so it melts in my mouth - yum. This is an art you know!

You need to analyse the type of biscuit you are dunking and dip accordingly, something like a choc chip cookie requires a short quick dunk, just enough to melt the choc and make the bic go a little soggy, a ginger biscuit should have a longer dunk. If you are a good dunker like me you shouldn't really get bits in the bottom.

Sometimes but not all the time. The bits just stay at the bottom of the cup and I just remember to make sure that I always leave some tea in the cup, so I don't see the bits at the bottom

You have to dunk it quite quick, but will always get a few bits in the buttom, especially a hob nob type. The morning coffee ones are probally the best, but are a bit boring.

I only do it if the biscuits are hard enough. Like ginger snaps or digestive. If you do it quickly and are not talking while you do it you should not get the bits on the bottom

I am sad enough to make a separate cup of tea specifically for dunking!

i'd still drink the same tea but i'll throw the last 1/5 of the tea in the cup so that i dn have to choke on the bits :)
