If I were to see you in the store, could I say that I think you are brave and beautiful for wearing Niqab?

Or would that be weird?

I saw a lady in JCpenny and she was so beautiful and mysterious. I was completely mesmerized!

I wanted to talk to her so bad but I was a little intimidated. I am a woman so I hope that the next time I could talk to you without you feeling weird. I would like that.

A woman is Niqab is still a woman..........so she wont mind if you come forward and tell her that you like it !! she is as normal as other women :)

I liked this question, May peace be with you ! and yes it would not be weird ! and you don't need to be intimidated ! All the best for next time !

For those who don't know, a Naqib is a garment worn by Muslim women in public. It's usually black and the only thing that shows is the woman's eyes.

I would hope that the next time you see a beautiful and mysterious woman in a Naqib you are able to overcome your own shyness. She's every bit as curious about you, as you are about her. Even if you don't have one syllable of common language between you, you can make her day with nothing but smiles and sign language. (She probably has studied English but is too shy to speak to strangers.) I suggest you take a tiny social risk and approach her. She may not speak your language, or dress like you, but I'll bet she's a woman of great refinement and tact. Even if she chooses not to interact with you (unlikely) she will surely treat you with kindness and courtesy. Did you notice if she had a male companion? Many Muslim women won't venture out in public without a male member of their family as an escort.

I do not wear the Islamic niqaab, but i appreciate the welcome from you. I do wear the Islamic veil.

As to your question, well, I think it really depends on the women wearing the face veil, if she is from another country and first time in the states she might be just a little hesitate -- but with understanding, because not many people are understanding of someone "wearing religion on their selves".. But say, if you would have approached me, an American convert muslimah--i would gladly accept what you say with kind heart and understanding. and...allow you to question and receive answers.
But, in general, my first approach to a muslimah before Islam was the same way..you have to start somewhere and the idea of a female being covered up, is asking about their religion.
Good Luck..and thank you for your kind words.
