I do not care about the damaging affects. I'm in 8th grade and have been a goth since 6th grade.

well... if you start dying your hair and damage it, you can end up with none on your head...
so just wait it out until your mom says it's ok. she just wants the best for you.

plus, being goth doesn't necessarily mean having black hair... if that's what you think, you probably don't know too much about it.

mention that it's a lot more harmless than piercings or tattoos,

if you have anough money i guess maybe you could buy your own hair dye, it's sold in wal-greens and i think i've seen it in k-mart. but if you're going to do it be prepared to touch it up every month or so because the roots will come in your original color.

also, a lot depends on whether or not your mom approves of your goth style. tell her maybe she should respect some of your decisions (after all, it IS your body) and that maybe the best way to learn is from your mistakes (okay, maybe you shouldn't use that one, it sounds as though you're already admiting it's a mistake)

best of luck

For one, being "goth" does not mean you have to dye your hair. Two, you are too young to be worrying about dying your hair. Seriously, your hair is going to be damaged and you will pay for it later in your years. Don't do something stupid now because of this phase your in.

Just remind your mom that dying your hair isn't permanent and way better than getting piercings and tattoos which can last for the rest of your life.
I personally don't see the problem with it.
I don't recommend doing it without her approval because she can easily make you dye your hair back to its original color or get you in a lot of trouble and I don't know if that's worth it.

Ask her how she'd feel about you trying a semi permanent (rinse out) colour? There are many different types of shampoo/mousse in colours. Who knows you might not like it black and she might. Just remember an OLD beauty school trick, if you hate it wash your hair with liquid dish soap.

All you do is beg your mom all the time over and over! then pretty soon she will give up and say yes! then record her answer and dye your hair that same day. then show it to her if she freaks then show her the proof! (but just in case use washable paint just in case she makes you get it out)

When your mom's not home, Make coffee(try not to make it really hot) and apply it on your hair. Or you can use prune juice or grape juice.
