Your on the right track! Read scripture below. I am not saying that it is not hurtful, but rejoice my sister and stay proud and remain faithful to God! You are blessed! :)
But I say to you, love your enemies. Pray for those who hurt you. If you do this, you will be true children of your Father in Heaven. He causes the sun to rise on the good people and on evil people, and he sends rain to those who do right and to those who do wrong. (Matthew 5:44-45)
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
(Matthew 5:10)
Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven.
(Matthew 5:11,12)
All men will hate you because of me. But not a hair of your head will perish. By standing firm you will gain life.
(Luke 21:17-19)
In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil men and imposters will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
(2 Tim 3:12)
But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ should shine on them.
(2 Corinthians 3,4)

Yes, people criticize our religion. But many Christians, especially on YA, have belligerently criticized other people's beliefs, and have been quite hostile to atheists and other non-believers, so we're not exempt from criticism. I deal with criticism by realizing that it's a natural part of rational discourse. Of course, some of the commentary on this site is extremely irrational, and my particular faith is bashed very frequently, but the funny thing is that my denomination is most often bashed by other Christians, not by non-believers. At any rate, if someone says something untrue, unfair or hurtful, then it's best to just move on. It's not worth getting stressed out over.

I believe that we are criticized so much because people are against God and the fact that Hell is real and the fact that they are living in sin. As Christians, when we witness to others, we are basically telling them about a better way of living, and that they need forgiveness and need a Savior. People don't want to hear that. However, instead of getting angry at those that put me down, or my faith, my heart swells with pity that they cannot understand what it's all about. I hope that those like you're talking about will come to know Christ before it's all said and done. Keep looking for His coming, and know that you are in the Truth!

Sweetie. I experienced that ever since I've been on this site. I intended to share ideas, thoughts, and answer serious question. But I've experienced the attacks also.
If you notice, all of their (attacking non-believer's) jabs can be narrowed to a few topics. they know they don't have a leg to stand on so they try to get on your nerves. I had to take a breather away from it. I have come across a few that were asking seriously. Answering those questions made my day. I'm sure there are many believers like us that are feeling the tension. But, hey! Satan is working overtime because he knows his time is almost up. Just look at it that way.
Take care, Keep your head up, and God bless.

It's amazing that a group (atheist's) of people that claim to not even believe in God spend SO much time obsessing on Him and those that believe.
They are quick to tell you what you believe as a Christian (I never knew until the atheist's on yahoo that I believed the earth was only 6,000 years old, that the earth was flat, that I was afraid of science, don't believe in dinosaurs or evolution, and that I apparently want a theocracy), and they are just as quick to accuse you of preaching to the masses and trying to force your faith on others (one of the first responses to your question is a great example of that).
However, with all that being said, I handle it by remembering that we are told we are going to be persecuted for His (Jesus') sake, and that we are to bless our enemies.

People often criticize those who are different. We are of God and they are of the world. Jesus said if they hated Him they will also hate us, But greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.
There is no reason to debate the Word of God because it is what it is, The Inspirational Word of God. Just continue to read and let Him encourage you and hold you in those hurting times. He says to cast all our cares up on Him. The Bible also says that if it had not been for the Lord that was on our side, our enemies would have consumed us. And it also says that it is by God's mercy we are not consumed and His mercies are new every morning. Stay prayerful and encouraged.
Love,
Your Sister In Christ

It has a lot to do with the bad behaviors of extremists that harass and attack other beliefs. Some "Christians" try get people's accounts deleted just for thinking differently. I am Christian and some are currently trying that with me, specifically Tribble Macher, Don S, and JC Redding (now JCR). They harass people so badly that no one even wants to hear the name of Jesus, so you tell me which Lord these "Christians" are serving? It is not your fault. Some other folks are acting very badly and not everyone understands that it is a few and not every Christian that behaves so poorly. Peace be with you.

When you know the truthful answer to a question--answer it.
Try to help.
Don't expect anything but recompense from Jesus.
Jesus see's what your doing and HE will keep up with things.
Don't take things personally.
Try not to.
Listen, when you answer a question truthfully (from the Bible) your putting Jesus on the line, not you. Jesus CAN take care of HIMSELF I assure you 100%!
Hope this helps.
Ditto..........

If you are strong in your faith and secure in your beliefs, it shouldn't matter what others say about it. Your religion is between you and your God - you don't (or shouldn't, anyway) need anyone else's permission, blessing, or validation in order to follow your religion.
