Ok, my mother is the foster parent to my nephew, who is now 16 and we were not in contact with since he was 9. He is very far behind in English. I tutored grammer in college and would be a perfect fit for him. I was asked to pick him up from school on monday, wed and fri and bring him to my home for 3 hours each night of study. I am a stay at home mom with 2 children and I am trying everything to help pay the bills from selling pure romance and avon. If you were me would you charge to tutor (she offered to pay) and if so how much would you ask to be paid? Thanks!

If your mother offered and you can use the extra money I would except.
My son has been out of school for a while but I paid $10.00 an hour.

I would not charge b/c it's family. Maybe you could work something out...like she can watch your kids while you are tutoring or maybe she could watch them once a week for you. Or you could just do it out of the goodness of your heart b/c he is family and you love him and he needs your help! : )

If you're struggling and she offered, I would accept. Ask her how much SHE can afford and feel comfortable paying, this puts the ball in her court and you're not asking too much and offending her.
