It's politically correct to tell the public what they want to hear

If being atheist means being politically incorrect, then it's fine with me. Politicians can be followers of God, but as long as they don't make their choice because that's "what God wants them to do", I'm fine with 'em. When someone starts doing that, I'll go live in the mountains so I don't have to deal with them and their crazy ideas.

It is not politically correct to be anything at all in this country that makes anyone uncomfortable. I am sick to death of the notion of being politically correct. It goes too far.

As for 95% of politicians being "followers of God", that is categorically untrue. When you look at the lifestyles, beliefs and behavior of these politicians, it is obvious that the majority are not "followers of God", but rather followers in name only in order to look good politically. I am not judging these folks - just saying that the actions of many would contradict the notion that they are true followers of God. Only God knows their hearts however. I am a born-again Christian, and quite frankly, I don't care if being so makes me politically incorrect.

Polls have shown that Atheism remains one of the unforgivable political sins. It is far easier for a politician to find some church to associate with even if he never attends.

This is an old tradition. The Deists among the founding fathers generally claimed to be Anglican.

It is politically correct to be anything other than Jewish, Christian or Islamic. "95% of politicians are 'followers of God'?" May I ask what country you are from? You surely must not live in America. :)

95? More like 99.5. Of course, many of them are nonbelievers but must pretend or they won't win an election. They cater to the ignorant majority.

No, no. "P.C." is only for liberals. When conservatives get it wrong it's-- oh, what's the word? Diabolical? Sacrilegious? RINO! (Republican In Name Only!)
